In the adult occupant protection, the Ioniq 5 managed to score 88% or 33.8/38 points. This test includes frontal impact against moveable and immovable barriers, side-impact/lateral impact test, rear impact and rescue and extrication parameters. Child Occupant Protection
The Hyundai Ioniq 5 comes with ISOFIX child seat mounts as standard. This ensured that it scored big on the child safety parameters with 42.6/49 points or 86%. In the crash tests, the impact on the dummies representing 6 year and 10-year-olds is recorded. Additionally, this test considers the safety equipment onboard to ensure child safety.

Vulnerable Road Users
This category takes into account pedestrian safety including those of the cyclists using the AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) function. In the case of a crash, this aspect considers how much damage is sustained by the knee or the head of the pedestrian against the bonnet and bumper of the vehicle.
