Latest-gen 2022 Skoda Fabia lends plenty of styling cues to the recently launched Slavia (Rapid-successori)
Here is the classic moose test of the 2022 Skoda Fabia, a hatchback that shares many styling cues with the Slavia. Skoda has experienced a massive surge in sales after launching the Kushaq and Slavia in India, both of which are based on the new MQB A0 IN platform. The last-gen Rapid had a hatchback sibling in the form of Fabia premium hatchback, which was later pulled off the shelves owing to poor demand. Now, though, with the market coming a long way in last decade or so, we hope Skoda considers launching a new Fabia based in the Indian market. Meanwhile, let’s take a look at how well does the 2022 Fabia perform in a moose test.

2022 Skoda Fabia Moose Test
The video has been uploaded on the Spanish YouTuber channel, KM77. In the first attempt, the driver is testing the reaction of the vehicle on hard braking and manoeuvring which is standard procedure. It was performed at a speed of 79 km/h and a lot of slippage was observed. But this attempt was not counted. The second time around, the driver maintained a speed of 75 km/h and was able to avoid every obstacle. The driveability and steering feel were decent and the driver felt in control throughout the test. In the subsequent attempts, the speed was increased but the vehicle hit the obstacles. Although, even during such scenarios, the vehicle was not unstable or unpredictable. This indicates strong driving dynamics of the Skoda Fabia.
Skoda products are known for being driver’s cars. Being a subsidiary of the VW Group, many Skoda cars borrow engines from Volkswagen which contribute to the overall driving characteristics of the vehicles tremendously. In India, the Kushq and Slavia come with the legendary TSI turbo petrol engines from house VW.

Skoda Slavia
Launched recently, the Skoda Slavia comes with a 1.0-litre three-pot motor that offers 115hp-175Nm, while the bigger engine displaces 1.5-litre and churns out segment-leading 150hp-250Nm. It also offers cylinder deactivation technology to optimize fuel mileage. Both the engines come mated to a 6-speed manual transmission as standard but buyers can opt for a 6-speed torque-converter automatic gearbox with the 1.0-litre motor or a 7-speed DSG with the 1.5-litre mill. The prices of the Slavia range from Rs 10.69 lakh to Rs 17.79 lakh, ex-showroom. Sadly, with the interest of the car buyers tilting towards SUVs, Skoda might not be too keen on bringing the 2022 Skoda Fabia to India anytime soon.
