Tata is one of the largest commercial vehicles manufacturers in India and a large chunk of the DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) fleet comprises of Tata buses.
A YouTube Shorts captures a Tata CNG bus that caught fire in the middle of the road. The bus was a part of the DTC fleet and was plying on the Anand Vihar ISBT to Mehrauli route in Delhi. Being a busy route due to the ISBT stop, the bus was carrying a lot of people. The incident took place at around 2:20 PM which is not the peak time. The visuals show the sheer power of the flames fuming out of the red CNG bus. Tata Motors has released an official statement on this matter as well. Let us take a look at the details.

Tata CNG Bus Catches Fire
The bus was carrying around 20 passengers at the time when smoke was beginning to come out of the engine. The driver immediately stopped the bus and the passengers were rescued to safety. Within a few minutes, the entire bus is seen engulfed in thick black smoke and lofty flames. The efforts to put out the fire using the fire extinguisher failed terribly. It was only after the team of firefighters arrived at the scene, that the flames were eventually put to rest. That happened at around 3:40 PM signifying that it took over 1 hour to control the fire. The main concern is the safety of everyone which was confirmed by the reports although 3 outlets selling air coolers were damaged.
Tata Motors Comments
Tata Motors released an official statement assuring support in the investigation and saying, “An unfortunate fire incident occurred in one of the CNG buses in New Delhi. Fortunately, there were no injuries to anyone. While we are unable to comment on specifics pending investigation, we will extend our fullest cooperation to the authorities in identifying the cause. Tata Motors is committed to offering safe and high-quality vehicles for public transport.”
