Volkswagen India manages to keep the sales chart in the positive direction in the month of January 2012 with a sales figure of 5789 units sold compared to 5601 cars sold in the January 2011. This is a mild growth of 3.5% which is a good sign in the middle of slow Auto industry growth. The Volkswagen Polo and the Volkswagen Vento sold 5402 units contributing to major percentage of sales while the larger sedans Volkswagen Jetta and the Volkswagen Passat sold 387 units.
Mr. Neeraj Garg, Member of Board & Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Volkswagen Group Sales India Pvt. Ltd. said “The first month has shown a decent performance with sales even growing slightly as compared to the same period last year. We take this as a very positive sign and are confident to go forward during the year with growth in sales numbers.”
