Fiat has been working on Fiat Linea and Fiat Grande Punto facelifts for quite some now. In fact at the 2012 Auto Expo Rajiv Kapoor, Fiat India’s CEO had said that they will work on the next generation models and at last the new Linea model has been spied. Although no timeline was disclosed for the new models by Mr. Kapoor, the new Linea has been caught while doing the rounds in Europe.
We strongly believe that the new models are reserved for the coming year as this is the time when Fiat will have separate dealerships and there will be no distractions to its sales as there were at the time when Tata was in association.

As being speculated the Linea new model, after completing all phases of testing, will be launched globally by 2012 end while the India launch of the same will take place in the year 2013 only.

We would not see any major cosmetic change on the exteriors but definitely the car has some remarkable changes on its body. First and foremost it is the new grille with widely spaced steps that the car will sport on the front. The Fiat badge now moves a little up and the fender now has v-shaped intakes positioned a bit lower. Other changes include a new fog lamp housing, restyled boot lid, new rear bumper and new wheel caps.
It is also being speculated that the company is planning to introduce the 1.4 litre Multi-air engine in the Linea facelift model making it even more interesting as an overall package. This would be the first major cosmetic change since the car’s launch in 2007 and we hope it will be liked by customers across the globe.
