Maruti Suzuki disappointed us at the 2012 Auto Expo as it was sure that the new MPV Maruti Ertiga will be launched but the Indian major instead unveiled it and announced that it will be launched in April. Initially it was known that by April end the car will hit the showrooms but there was no confirmation on whether the car will be exported to other markets or not.
It comes as no surprise that the company is now ready to export this new product to Indonesia, the second market after ours. The reason for choosing Indonesia as the second market is the fact that MPVs are as popular there as small cars are in India. So from the sales point of view the Indonesian market is extremely potent and has good absorptive capacity for such models.

As far as the new market is concerned only a petrol version will be launched there. Toyota Avanza and Daihatsu Xenia are two popular MPVs in the Indonesian market and the Ertiga has to prove itself in order to capture their sales. However the Ertiga has a plus point as it has a couple of extra features on the interiors.
Talking about the overall look of the car, it is quite compact in proportions and has a much better fit and finish by comparison with previous Maruti models. All these attributes will definitely help the car grab a good amount of sales here in India as well as overseas.
