In an uncommon drag race, the VW Vento goes up against the Jeep Compass. While one may be up on power significantly, the other has the advantage of weight and iconic engine.
This unique drag race between VW Vento and Jeep Compass throws up some pretty interesting observations. On one hand, the Vento is a Polo-based sedan with similar configurations, i.e., the legendary 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol engine. On the other hand, the Compass is a premium mid-size SUV designed for comfort and off-roading adventures. Hence, this drag race might not be completely warranted. Nonetheless, the results and the race will get you exciting.

The YouTuber finds an empty stretch of road to test the performance of these two vehicles side by side without jeopardizing the safety of anyone. We urge our readers to not try something like this yourselves. The cars are in normal modes (Compass), the ESC is turned OFF (Compass) and the AC is switched OFF. In the first attempt, the Vento smashes the Compass out of the park with a stellar sprint. The Compass was behind from the get-go. It faced a similar fate in the second attempt too. Then the drivers were swapped but the winner remained the same. In the fourth attempt, the drivers decided to switch the AC on in the Vento to give the Compass a chance to redeem itself. However, after the initial few seconds, the Vento again sprinted away never to be caught by the Compass again.

The reason for Vento trashing the Compass could simply be attributed to the fact that Compass is engineered ad calibrated for off-roading manoeuvering and environments. It is not defined to keep the 0-100 km/h sprint time in mind. The Vento is designed for stability on-road which is why it is brisk.
