It’s clear that the dashboard of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio would have a pretty clean layout, with a high focus on ease of use than jazzy aesthetics. So far, we know for sure that the new model will offer various segment-first features such a panoramic sunroof, coloured MID, LED lighting, dual-zone climate control and, probably, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features that the SUV will offer include rear AC vents, static cornering lamps and cruise control. Standard safety features on offer will include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, rearview camera and rear parking sensors while the top-spec model is expected to even offer side and curtain airbags along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC).

A look at the interior image we have here shows that the aircon vents are positioned vertically and not horizontally as in the current model. They flank the touchscreen infotainment unit, right below which is located the dual-zone climate control system and the hazard lights button. The dashboard will feature gloss black plastics and brushed aluminum trim to boost the premium quotient of the cabin. Official details are yet to be released but it’s almost certain that the SUV would get reworked version of the Thar’s 150PS 2.0-litre petrol and 130PS 2.2-litre diesel turbocharged options. Transmission options for both the motors will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic, while 4×4 option could be provided on the fully-loaded diesel variant. The two engine variants could even benefit from the mild-hybrid technology for a higher fuel efficiency.
