In a personal note, Kunal Behl (Operating Head – Sales and Dealer Development) explains that the above-mentioned rumors (including a thread on teambhp) are not true at all. In fact, the brand will take action against anyone spreading “baseless, misleading, and wrong information.” This clarification clearly hints that the company has no plans to shut down shop in the Indian market. Most companies have seen a dip due to the global pandemic and semi-conductor shortage. Honda Cars India’s exported 1,722 units against 1,233 units in the year-ago month. “The sales in the month of January’22 got partially impacted owing to the weekend-lockdowns in some cities but overall the situation looks positive and steady,” said Yuichi Murata, Honda Cars India Director – Marketing and Sales.

Honda Cars India (HCIL) is a subsidiary of Honda. The Japanese automobile manufacturer entered the Indian market with Honda City. It has been the most successful model for the brand in India. The company’s current portfolio includes Amaze, Jazz, WR-V City, and more. However, it has seen a slump in sales lately. The brand does not have the hottest cars in any segments currently. This can change anytime with another Honda car. Last month alone, Honda Cars India sold 10,427 vehicles in India. We might see another solid car by Honda soon.
