The all-new Mahindra Scorpio has been under development for a while. Many spy shots and videos of the next-gen model have emerged online. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is expected to be launched by mid-2022. It is expected to feature a completely new exterior design and overhauled interiors. The all-new model is now in the final stages of testing. Earlier, two test mules of the new SUV were spotted in Lahaul-Spiti and a few days later, another was seen in Manali. And now, yet another sighting has taken place near the Atal Tunnel, in which it has been seen with the second-gen Thar. The company seems to be testing the SUV in the harsh winter conditions. Here’s a good look at the exterior as well as the interior of the test mules of the 2022 Scorpio.

While the test mules are covered with heavy camouflage, the upcoming SUV will have bigger dimensions than the current generation. As per recent sightings and leaks, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will sport a pair of stylish dual-tone alloy wheels. Overall, the car is likely to feature a bold style for a higher street presence. It is expected to be powered by a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine that offers 130hp/ a 2.0-liter mStallion petrol engine that offers 140hp. For the transmission option, the SUV will include a 6-speed manual as well as a 6-speed automatic unit. The details specifications will be revealed only closer to the launch.
The Mahindra Scorpio is known for its ruggedness, space, and presence. The next-gen Scorpio is likely to come with features like a vertically mounted touchscreen, better ergonomics, all-wheel drive, strong character lines, a side-hinged rear door, a muscular stance, seven-seat configuration, and vertical tail lamps. It is also expected to share its powertrain options with the Thar. While the boxy and upright silhouette may be familiar, the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio is essentially a new vehicle.

Currently, the Mahindra SUV is priced from Rs 13.18 lakh to Rs 18.14 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It comes in five trims: S3+, S5, S7, S9, and S11. The nine-seater car is powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine that offers 120PS/ 280Nm or 140PS/ 319Nm. While the base variant gets a 5-speed MT, other variants are paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The popular car comes with features like cruise control, auto AC, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth and AUX connectivity, and auto headlights with LED DRLs. Safety features include dual front airbags, rear parking sensors, ABS, and speed alert.
