Launched in October 2020, the second-generation Mahindra Thar has been in great demand and even as the recently launched XUV700 has managed to steal some limelight away from this rugged SUV, there are many who still aspire to own this off-roader. There have been many incidents of owners of the vehicle getting it stuck somewhere in all the excitement but the latest incident will probably leave you a bit amused. Not many details of this accident are available but it’s being said that this accident took place in Bengaluru. Apparently, a prospective buyer who was checking out the SUV at the dealership. However, as he wasn’t well-versed with an automatic, he ended up driving off the show floor and smash through the glass wall of the facade. Luckily, no one was hurt in this accident. Also, it looks like a JCB was summoned to retrieve the stuck car.
The second-gen Mahindra Thar is available in a price range of Rs 13.17 lakh to Rs 15.53 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s available in both petrol and diesel engine variants with both the motor options being available with 6-speed manual and automatic transmission chances. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre mStallion turbocharged petrol unit that offers a maximum power of 150bhp and a peak torque of 300Nm. On the hand, the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine offers 130bhp and 300Nm.
The latest Mahindra Thar is far more modern than its predecessor and has impressed everyone by carrying over the strong points of the previous version while becoming more upmarket in all aspects. The car also looks more modern and its cabin has become better appointed with comfort-enhancing features. Finally, the SUV has bagged a 4-star rating in Global NCAP crash tests.
