The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios is powered by a 1.2-liter petrol engine that offers 83PS and 114Nm of torque, respectively. Another variant with a 1.2-liter diesel engine produces 75PS and 190Nm. Both petrol and diesel engines are paired with a 5-speed MT and an optional 5-speed AMT. Hyundai is also offering a Grand i10 Nios with Aura’s 1-litre turbo-petrol engine that offers 100PS and 172Nm. As you can see in the YouTube video by sanCari Sumit, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG Sportz variant features a CNG sticker to help one differentiate it from the petrol model. The company-fitted CNG model comes at Rs 7.60 Lakh (ex-showroom, pan-India). The small car comes fitted with alloy wheels, projector fog lamps, DRLs, ORVM, touchscreen control, reverse parking sensors, IRVM, automatic climate control, and more. However, in terms of safety standards, it only has a 2-star rating in crash tests. Let’s take a look at the economic car:
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Sportz CNG variant features a premium look with a fluid theme. On the front, the company has added a Black glossy grille alongside DRLs, stylish headlamps, and projector fog lamps (halogen). It has a width of 1680mm. On the side, the car is 3800mm wide with stylish creases. You can see black allow wheels and a 2450mm wheelbase. The blacked-out B-pillar and body-color A-pillar offer a floating roof look. The ground clearance is only 165mm. On the back, the company has added a stylish design that flows with the overall theme. You also get a camera to assist in parking. There is also a shark fin antenna on top.
Inside, the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios CNG Sportz variant features premium door trim with a stylish curve design, power window controls, central lock, etc. All four doors get a speaker. While the driver set has adjustable seat, the headrest is fixed. The analog cluster is paired with a touchscreen infotainment system. The steering wheel has a brush metal finish. For safety, the company has added two airbags. You also get automatic climate control. The gearbox has a leather base. However, there is no armrest. On the back, you get leg decent space. The fabric on the seat covers is also quite nice. The boot space carries the CNG cylinder with 60 lite capacity.
The Hyundai Grand i10 Nios range starts at Rs 5.29 lakh and goes all the way to Rs 8.51 lakh (ex-showroom). You can choose from four trims – Era, Magna, Sportz, and Asta. It competes with the likes of Maruti Suzuki Swift. At present, the Nios is actually the most value for money CNG car you can buy without opting for a cheap car with less features.
