Automobile enthusiasts keep coming up with innovative ideas for their favorite cars. Now, a new YouTube video on ‘Ankit Design Cars’ shows a pretty desirable digital version of the Tata Altroz. In fact, this Tata Altroz MPV could be the perfect rival to the Maruti Ertiga, if Tata ever decides to launch it. The premium hatchback has already established itself in the market. The immensely popular car (thanks to a bold design and a feature-rich cabin) is a big win for Tata. Let’s see what the 7-seat version of Tata Altroz has to offer.

As you can see in the video above, the 7-seat Version Tata Altroz is identical to the regular version up to the C-pillar. Additional quarter glass on the back. However, the wheelbase should also have been extended to accommodate the third row of seating. Roof rails have been added to complete the MPV-like appearance alongside enhanced taillamps. The rest of the design remains the same as the standard version. The video only shows the side view of the 7-seat MPV. Overall, the new Tata Altroz MPV concept looks well sculpted and unique.

The Tata Altroz is one of the most popular premium hatchbacks in the country. It comes with a full 5-star safety rating at the Global NCAP. Currently, the car comes with three engine options – a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that offers 86 PS and 113 Nm/ a 1.2-liter turbo petrol engine 110 PS and 140 Nm and a 1.5-liter diesel engine making 90 PS and 200 Nm of peak power and peak torque respectively. All the variants come with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The Tata Altroz comes with a price tag of Rs 5.84 lakh – Rs 9.59 lakh, ex-showroom. It competes with the likes of Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20, VW Polo, and Honda Jazz.

On the other hand, the Maruti Ertiga is among the most affordable and popular MPVs of the country. It comes with a 1.5 Litre K-series petrol engine that produces 104 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. You can get a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed torque converter. The CNG-petrol variant offers 92PS and 122Nm (efficiency of 26.08km/kg). Safety features on the 7-seater include dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat anchors, and reverse parking sensors. The Maruti MPV has been priced from Rs 7.96 lakh to Rs 10.69 lakh (ex-showroom). It rivals the Toyota Innova Crysta and Mahindra Marazzo.
