Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the next-generation Suzuki Alto 800 with 796cc PS6 engine and a sporty look.
Maruti is the leading hatchback manufacture in India. The Alto is one of the most affordable and most-selling cars in the country. The family car is aimed has been targeting Indian middle-class users. Previous reports claimed that the Maruti Alto 800 will be discontinued and replaced by new sub-5 Lakh cars. However, now the Maruti Suzuki is planning to bring an upgraded version of the Alto 800. The upcoming car is reported to be fast approaching the final stages of development. The third-gen Alto is expected to be launched in the coming months. Now, several details of the upcoming car have emerged online.

Next Generation 2023 Maruti Suzuki Alto Specs
The upcoming 2023 Alto is already being developed by the carmaker. The budget family car seems to come in a new stylish and bold look. As per reports, the Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 will be powered by a 796cc PS6 engine that will offer 46PS of power and 69Nm of torque. The next-generation car will be based on the HEARTECT-K platform also found on the S-Presso. It will even offer a CNG option. However, a 5-speed manual transmission will be standard and there won’t be any AMT option.
The Alto has been a popular brand name in India for almost two decades. Maruti Suzuki currently offers the hatchback in three trims – Std, L, and V. Additionally, the L trim is also offered with a CNG kit. The Maruti Alto is powered by a 0.8-liter 3-cylinder petrol engine that outputs 48PS and 69Nm. The CNG version offers 41PS and 60Nm. The car comes with a 5-speed manual transmission. Additional features include a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, keyless entry, front power windows, driver side airbag, rear parking sensors, and ABS with EBD. The top-spec VXi+ variant also gets Apple CarPlay. The Maruti Alto 800 comes with a starting price of Rs 3.39 lakh (goes up to Rs 5.03 lakh). It comes in 8 variants.

Design
In terms of design, the upcoming model will sport a bolder look with a styling theme similar to the one on the S-Presso. The front-end is likely to have a large air dam. However, the biggest change will be in the length and width. The entry-level budget car will have bigger dimensions, thereby leading to a larger interior similar to that of the S-Presso. Additionally, the Next-Generation Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 2023 is expected to come with features like steering-mounted audio controls, a touchscreen infotainment system, keyless entry, ABS with EBD, and rear parking sensors. It is expected to be priced below INR 3.5 Lakh (ex-showroom).
