Machdar Motorsports, the promoters of i1 Supercar Series today announced the launch of a nationwide campaign‘My i1 Day’, a road safety program aimed at school children across the country. The primary objective of the initiative is to build awareness for road safety using various innovative and exciting activities.It will be a special 4-hour program wherein school children will be educated to adopt road safety measures in their day-to-day life.

Speaking on the occasion, Darshan M, CEO, Machdar Motorsports said,”It gives me immense pleasure to announce the launch of ‘My i1 Day ‘across schools in the country. We are initiating the program keeping in mind the dates of road safety week.”
With the increasing popularity of motorsports in India, it is critical that children are educated on road safety and driving with precaution. Machdar, being committed to keeping kids safe on and around the road, is now reaching out to schools to build awareness about Road Safety, added Darshan M.
“The i1 Day is a great campaign initiated by Machdar Motorsports. It is in line with the FIA’s objective to promote road safety and sustainability at all levels in every country across the world. Our road cars have made huge steps forward in terms of safety equipment but both human driving behavior and the road themselves need to be improved drastically in our country. Road safety education for the young population is the way to go and schools are the ideal place to start creating this awareness of how important it is to be safe on our roads. The motorsport community has a huge role to play and the FMSCI is glad to support a great initiative like this”, said Vicky Chandhok, President, FMSCI.
The program aims at reaching to 3, 27,000 kids across 654 schools in 100 cities to build awareness about Road Safety. This program has been designed in such a way that it is both educational and exciting.The duration of the entire campaign is about 45 days. The program has been divided into four zone –
Road Safety Session
Session for school children on adopting road safety measures. It will be a 10 minutes session .Each session will include 25 kids.
Road Safety Test
–Post the Road Safety program, children undergo a test to receive “i1 Super Series Driver’s License” as a certificate. Children are also given a i1 branded sticker, “My Dad Drives Safe!”
i1 Super Zone
In this zone, children will be provided information related to i1 Supercar Series
- Various components of the Car
- Various clothing options & Helmet Safety
- Different flags and their meanings
- Pit Area & Pit Stops
- Series Format & Scoring System
Graffiti Zone
A flex of a i1 car silhouette is placed in the zone
- Children use crayons to paint inside the silhouette
- Paintings from all the schools will be placed at the i1 circuit during race
- Few from these schools will be selected to watch the i1 Super Series live
