There is an age-old practice that you need to change your oil every 5,000 km. However, motor oil and cars have become increasingly efficient now. So, unless you are not performing any unusually heavy tasks, you don’t need to change oil frequently.
5. Additionally, using synthetic oil doesn’t necessarily benefit all engines, especially older ones. The man-made lubricant consists of chemically modified materials such as petroleum components. The base material is almost always distilled crude oil. However, the expensive oil doesn’t necessarily make your car function better than the conventional options. Unless you have a high-performance engine, you don’t need to spend the extra on synthetic oil.
