The official pics of the Skoda Slavia sedan are out. This is one of those rare instances where the official pics of a car is wearing the registration number of an actual car. This car has been registered under the name of a certain Mukesh Kumar Verma. What is more interesting is the fact that the car registered with this number plate is a Honda Jazz. This information has been revealed from the Vahan app of the government. Skoda has unveiled its premium mid-size sedan and the launch is expected to take place somewhere in the first quarter of 2022. The pre-bookings are open for the same. Let us take a look at what it will offer.

Skoda Slavia sports a modern and typical Skoda look and design language. This translates to sharp characteristic creases all around with plenty of blingy elements. The front fascia features a broad butterfly grille with chrome surrounds, sleek LED headlamps with crystalline effect, LED DRLs, chrome elements on the fog lamp housing and much more. The sides are accentuated by 16-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, with a straight crease and Skoda badging above the front fender, chrome belt beneath the window line. The tail end features an LED design with crisp design elements and a chrome belt on the bumper too.

Interiors
The interior layout of the cabin is quite modern and sophisticated. There are quite a few patterns on the dashboard, Digital Instrument Cluster which Skoda likes to call the Digital Cockpit, Digital Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Connected Car Tech with Skoda App, two-spoke Steering wheel with controls, Wireless Charging, Sunroof, clever features by Skoda like ticket holder, phone pocket on the backside of the front seats, Ventilated Front Seats, Ambient Lighting, Premium Audio System with Subwoofers, a large luggage compartment among other things.

Specs
The Skoda Slavia is based on the same MQB A0 IN platform as the Kushaq and also shares the powertrain options. This means that there will be a 1.0-litre TSI and 1.5-litre TSI EVO. The smaller engine outputs a maximum power of 115PS and a peak torque of 175Nm, while the larger unit offers a maximum power of 150PS and a peak torque of 250Nm. The transmission options for the former include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque converter automatic, while the latter comes with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG. The expected prices will be around Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh, ex-showroom range. The chief competitors will be Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Maruti Ciaz and VW Vento (also about to get a next-gen version).
