Here is a cool video of the India-bound Hyundai Tucson in a moose test environment. The premium SUV is most likely to come to our shores next year. The Tucson on sale in India is due for a thorough upgrade. Hyundai is aware of the buzz created by the Mahindra XUV700 in the segment and would want Tucson to give it a challenge. Other products have also evolved in the segment like the Tata Safari, MG Hector Plus and Jeep Compass. We understand that Jeep Compass might be the only direct rival to Tucson, but customers do have all the aforementioned options in and around the premium 5-seat SUV segment. Here is a glimpse of how the facelifted Hyundai Tucson might look like and what will it offer.

Hyundai Tucson in Moose Test
The video has been uploaded on the km77 YouTube channel which is a Spanish channel. The moose test is conducted on the Hyundai Tucson that is on sale in the European market and might make its way to India soon. It reflects the agility and handling of a vehicle. However, to perform well in this test with an SUV is not easy. This is because SUVs are not designed to be agile and great handling vehicles, but for practicality and ruggedness. But modern SUVs are based on the monocoque design which is inherently agile. However, the SUV on doing the test is clearly not performing well as seen in the video. It is constantly losing traction and hitting obstacles. This is despite the 4×4 drive system. Being a chunky SUV could be the only reason for that. However, things get better when the speed is lowered a bit.

The Tucson is a 5-seat premium mid-size SUV that has Jeep Compass and VW Tiguan as the chief rivals. The Indian customers don’t buy too many of these SUVs but can Hyundai, once again, create excitement in this segment just like it has been doing in all the other segments. The trend of big SUVs is gaining momentum globally and a modern SUV like Tucson will promise premium features to entire the customers away from the competition. The design language of Hyundai will also be seen in the upcoming facelifted Hyundai Creta, which some would argue, looks too similar to this Tucson. But we will have to wait and see what tweaks does Hyundai make to both these SUVs to look unlike each other.
