Here is an SUV from Honda that could compete against the Kia Seltos in India. The Seltos has found a great fan following among lakhs of buyers. That has contributed immensely to Kia becoming the fastest carmaker to reach 3 lakh car sales in India. Seltos is a prominent player in the mid-size SUV segment along with its other Korean sibling, the Hyundai Creta. These have given no chance to other carmakers in this segment. However, Honda might just have an ace up its sleeve with this new mid-size SUV concept. If it comes to India, it might replace the WR-V and compete in one of the most lucrative spaces in our market. Here are the details of this concept mid-size SUV from Honda.

Honda SUV – Kia Seltos Rival
The overall appearance of this SUV is in line with the latest design language of the carmaker. The front features a familiar grille design with a thick chrome bar at the top similar to what we see in the current-gen Honda City in India as well. The LED headlamps and DRLs look quite sleek and modern and the bumper sports a silver skid plate to give the SUV a sporty front fascia. The black alloy wheels accentuate the side profile of the SUV. The sides also wear a characteristic crease which becomes more prominent towards the rear. The side skirtings have red accents in them to let you know it is sporty. There is also the floating roof effect along with roof rails. The rear has the modern connected taillamps that are common these days. All in all, this SUV has some of the Honda design cues but successfully differentiates itself from any other SUV.

Specs
If it makes its way to India, it will most likely borrow the powertrain options from Honda City. This means that there will be a 1.5-litre petrol engine making 121 PS of peak power and 145 Nm of peak torque. This engine comes mated to either a 6-speed manual or a CVT transmission. The other powertrain includes a 1.5-litre diesel engine making 100 PS of peak power and 200 Nm of peak torque with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will be interesting to see if Honda decides to enter the mid-size SUV segment in the Indian market which is brutally competitive at the moment. The expected prices might be in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 17 lakh, ex-showroom as is the norm of the segment.
