Recently, we shared with you some visuals of what was being touted as the next-gen Maruti Vitara Brezza. Now, merely a couple of days later, we have got our hands on what are clear images of the upcoming Maruti Baleno facelift. These have been shared with us by someone closely associated with the development of the revised version of the hatchback. It must be noted here that Maruti Suzuki India Ltd, the undisputed leader of the small car market, is preparing a comprehensive facelift for its hot-selling premium hatchback. And going by the images we have here, it looks like the carmaker is almost ready with the revised aesthetics of the small car.

As can be seen in the image we have above, the front-end of here car has received some major revisions. The bumper is new and features bigger housings for the fog lamp, while even the grille has been stretched till the headlamps and feels more stylish than before. The headlamps have been updated accordingly to accommodate the new grille. Also, it looks like even the bonnet has been revised in accordance with the changes done to the front-end of the vehicle. Also, thanks to these comprehensive updates, even the front fenders are likely to have received some changes.

The car seen in the images here looks like a base model. Therefore, one can expect the higher trims to get cladding on the pillars along with chrome inserts on the grille as well as the door handles. Also, the side profile of the car is not visible in the images but we’re almost sure it would have a new set of wheels. The rear, like the front, gets some comprehensive updates. The taillights are new and now have a WRV-like look like a part of them extends all the way into the bootld. The bumper, however, is the same as before, while even the base model carries a roof spoiler. There are no other details available at the moment but it’s for sure that the car has got plenty of cosmetic updates here.

The updated version of the Maruti Baleno is very likely to get a revised version of the 1.2-litre four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that will benefit from Dualjet mechanism. This engine will be shared with the Swift and will output a maximum power of 90 PS and a peak torque of 113 Nm. Transmission options on offer include a 5-speed manual and a CVT. Additionally, the engine should benefit from an idle start-stop system with mild-hybrid technology.
