We’ve been reporting about many accidents in which the build quality of a vehicle has been tested. But the latest incident whose visuals were received by us on mail earlier today leaves us a bit baffled. Full details of this mishap involving an auto rickshaw and a Maruti Dzire aren’t available but what leaves us confused is the poor condition of the compact sedan.

This incident has taken place in Chennai and from what we know, the auto rickshaw involved in this crash was travelling on the wrong side of the road. Meanwhile, the Maruti Dzire Tour turned turtle while trying to save the auto rickshaw. It does not look like the auto rickshaw has suffered much damage but the same can’t be said about the Dzire. Other than suffering structural damage due to turning over, the front-end of the sedan has also been hit hard. The bumper has broken into half and the front cross-member seems to have bent from the impact.

Interestingly, the picture of the interior of this Maruti Dzire Tour paints a rather strange sight. As you can see, the car turning on to its side has led to many currency bills flying out of a packet. Also, closer inspection reveals a bottle of alcohol. It’s not known if all the cash belonged to the driver or if he was in an inebriated condition at the time of accident. But it’s pretty easy to lose control over vehicle in emergency situations like the one the driver of this car had to face to avoid impact with the auto rickshaw.
We, at CarBlogIndia, urge all road-users to always drive on the right side of the road and never drink and drive. Drunk driving has been been a huge menace on our country’s roads and driving under the influence of alcohol can be disastrous as much for a driver as it is for other road users.
