TVS never used to be a competition for major bike manufacturers like Hero Honda and Bajaj but during the previous years the company has grown from nothing to a popular two-wheeler manufacturer. The credit is to be given to under 150CC segment bikes like the TVS Star and the very very loved TVS Scooty.
TVS has got all the fame and name because of its Scooty which certainly needs a big round of applause for its lightness, compactness, charm and obviously the price. The sales figures of the Scooty hit other majors like a tornado but the product’s appeal faded away with time and changing tastes of the Indian customers who wanted more powerful machines and to keep up with the times the brand switched to manufacturing motorcycles.
TVS Apache RTR is quite popular for its design and technology which fairly describes the brand’s potential. The bike till date has done well and now the brand has planned to launch Apache along with Star to other global markets, specifically Argentina and Mexico.
TVS has been in the export business for quite some time and delivers its motorcycles to SAARC region and Africa. Within the next two years it plans to set up assembly lines in Bangladesh. The story does not end here since the company is also looking forward to Asia and Africa for exporting three wheelers.
Talking in terms of the market share in exports, presently the company has claims for 10 percent which is soon expected to touch the 20 percent mark.Surprisingly 14-15 percent of the total sales owe to the exports and this major estimates it to become 25 percent over the next 5 years.
We do want to wish them luck and sales, and hope to see more such exports from this as well as other brands making India more proud.
