Hyundai officially announces the introduction of N Line products in India starting with the i20 N Line. For the uninitiated, the N Line of the Korean automaker represents the driving-oriented product range. The N Line variant of the popular i20 has been spotted tested multiples already. Now, Hyundai finally officializes its introduction in 2021. The point to remember, however, is that the N Line must not be confused with the full-blown N Division lineup of Hyundai which includes world-renowned products like the Veloster N. The N Line is a bit enhanced version of the regular Hyundai cars with a bit of performance-oriented mechanical changes. Let us take a look at what the N Line variant of the Hyundai i20 is likely to bring with it.

Hyundai i20 N Line – Exteriors
While the overall exterior design will not be too different than the regular premium hatchback, there will be some unique elements to distinguish it from the regular versions. This might include things like a new N Line dedicated paint scheme, new alloy wheels with different designs, N Line badges across the body panels, twin-chrome exhausts and possibly a differently designed front grille. The N Line will otherwise be based on the latest-gen i20 which was introduced at the end of last year. The story with the subsequent products from Hyundai will also be the same.

Expected Powertrain
Apart from the addition of modified steering dynamics, suspension setup, the most crucial characteristic of the Hyundai i20 N Line will be the 1.0-litre direct injection turbocharged engine. This powerful engine will make 120 PS and 172 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. This will likely be mated to either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed quick-shifting DCT transmission. This will officially allow the i20 to enter into the scarcely populated hot-hatch segment in India. The premium that one is likely to pay for the anger version of the i20 will be around Rs 1 lakh more than the current top-spec trim.
