Maruti Suzuki WagonR has received a new Xtra Edition variant to bring more flexibility to the customers. Based on the VXi trim of the WagonR, this Xtra Edition variant has updated exteriors and interiors. WagonR is one of the most popular and old offerings from the largest carmaker in the country. The current-gen model had not received any specific updates in a long time. This special edition variant might be Maruti’s attempt to bring freshness to the WagonR. Maruti WagonR Xtra Edition Variant – Exterior Changes
While the overall design remains the same, there are quite a few additional elements to distinguish this variant from the regular VXi trim. These updates include additional chrome garnish of the front grille and bumper protection to lighten up the front fascia. The side profile receives body cladding and mouldings which are clearly visible, wheel arch cladding to make the side profile more prominent. The rear hosts bumper protection along with chrome garnish on the door and number plate. Rest all the other bits remain the same.

Interior Changes
There is an addition of accessories and features list as well. Maruti dealership will add these features to the standard VXi trim of the WagonR at Rs 23,000. These will be fitted under the Maruti Genuine Parts service package. If one installs these separately, the cost will be Rs 33,000. On offer is an “interior styling kit”, along with an air inflator, trunk organizer and car charge extender. Apart from that, this special variant comes with Power Adjustable Wing Mirrors, 2-DIN Infotainment System, Remote Locking, Split Folding Rear Seats, Tilt-Adjustable Steering as standard features. These are surely some great additions to the VXi trim at an affordable price.

Specs and Prices
Maruti WagonR continues to come with two petrol powertrains. There is a 1.0-litre petrol engine on offer belting out 69 hp and 90 Nm and the 1.2-litre petrol engine making 82 hp and 113 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There is an option of choosing either a 5-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The prices of the WagonR range between Rs 4.80 lakh and Rs 6.33 lakh, ex-showroom. The traditional competitors include the likes of Hyundai Santro and Tata Tiago.
