Maruti Dzire-rivalling Honda Amaze CNG has been spotted testing in this video. Now, CNG cars are gaining popularity owing to the astronomical rise in fuel prices. The petrol is already costing upwards of Rs 100 in various cities. This has encouraged people to look for alternative fuel-powered vehicles. While the EVs are still some time in the future due to prices and infrastructure, CNG seems to be the perfect bridge to fill the gap between IC engines and electrification. Hyundai Aura is another popular alternative in the segment. Now, another compact sedan has decided to join the party in the CNG avatar. Honda Amaze CNG was seen road testing to rival the Maruti Suzuki Dzire CNG. Let us take a look at what to expect from the upcoming sedan.

Honda Amaze CNG To Rival Maruti Dzire CNG
The Honda Amaze CNG will hit the market at the time of rising fuel prices. Being already a popular product for Honda in India, the customers will not have a hard time accepting the sedan in this guise. In fact, it will only give the customers a wide array of options to choose from. The video shows the Amaze on the roads without any camouflaging. The exteriors will remain the same for the CNG version as well. Amaze is already and good-looking sedan. It repeatedly brings in a ton of sales for Honda along with the City. At this time, CNG vehicles seem to be the only way out for the car owners suffering under the ridiculous fuel prices. The electrification for the mass market is still some time away for us. The Government is also focussing on alternate fuels like CNG and Ethanol-blended petrol. Hence, the push for such kinds of powertrains has been constant. There are hardly any reasons to justify not to go for CNG vehicles at this point in time.

Expected Specs
Currently, the Amaze comes with a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine making 88 hp and 110 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. The diesel-powered Amaze is good for 98 hp and 200 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. These engines could be mated to either a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. In the CNG guise, there will be a decline in these power and torque figures. That is typically the case with all the CNG versions. The prices of the regular Amaze range between Rs 6.22 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The CNG variants will also range somewhere in this region.
