Premier Rio CRDi4 Diesel With 1.3 Litre Engine Launched At Rs. 6.70 Lakhs – Details
Premier has been putting all of its efforts to lift the image of its SUV, Premier Rio and for the same it launched the new upgraded 2012 Premier Rio at the 2012 Auto Expo. Though being claimed as sophisticated, the car still does not manage to impress you but the company’s sincere effort is praiseworthy.
The Rio now gets new curvy headlamps, an integrated grille and a new spoiler. Apart from these the car also features a new hood and side panels which together improve the overall aerodynamic efficiency. On the interiors the company has added new beige upholstery to give the passenger cabin a more lively feeling.

On the technical front the car is now available in three engine options(Multijet is under testing) which are as follows:
- 1173cc (1.2 litre) petrol engine based on AVL technology delivering 77BHP and 15 kms/litre of fuel efficiency.
- 1489cc turbo diesel engine based on Peugeot technology (TUD5) delivering 65BHP of power, offering 16 kms/litre of fuel efficiency
- 1.3 litre CRDI Multijet diesel engine (currently undergoing integration, testing and homologation)
Both petrol and diesel engines are available immediately after the Expo while the Multijet Diesel is expected to arrive by April 2012.
