This video on YouTube tests the mileage figures for the 1.0-litre Skoda Kushaq with the automatic gearbox. Since Indian customers value the mileage of the cars a lot, it makes sense to do a mileage test. The method used in this test is the tank-to-tank method for exact figures. The Kushaq is the make-or-break product for the Czech carmaker. It becomes relevant, therefore, if it also boasts of healthy fuel economy numbers along with plenty of other features. The Creta and Seltos-rivalling mid-size SUV is priced aggressively as well, although misses out on some key features like the digital instrument cluster and a diesel powertrain. Therefore, the mileage figures become even more crucial to help the potential customers make a decision. Let us take a look at the test results.

Amar Drayan, the YouTuber, goes to the petrol station to fill the tank up to the brim at the start of the video. Then he goes out on the roads to drive the Kushaq. To get the real-world figures, he drove around 70 km. Out of this, around 20 km was in city traffic and around 50 km was on the highway. He also hit speeds up to 100 kmph to measure the fuel consumption at higher speeds. All in all, he tried to ensure that different real-world scenarios could be created to evaluate a practical value for the fuel economy. At the end of the test, he again goes to the petrol station to fill the tank up to the brim. It becomes clear that for a journey of 72.7 km, the fuel that had to be refilled was 4.79 litres. This amounts to a decent mileage of 15.17 kmpl.

It could be concluded that if one drives the automatic normally without any sudden acceleration and braking, the gearbox is designed for great mileage. That is generally the case with all the automatic transmissions. It is when the driver presses the accelerator suddenly demanding a sudden boost of power that the transmission gets a bit confused and maybe a bit reluctant to react. Such scenarios should be avoided and you might also be able to achieve good mileage figures. We hope that this test of the Skoda Kushaq automatic mileage is useful for you and you are able to make your decision of whether to go for the mid-size SUV or not.
