What is the fuel consumption of the Kia Seltos Diesel idling with AC on? This is a question that many people want the answer to. This YouTuber made a video to look for how much fuel did his Seltos consume for 90 mins (1 and a half hours) with AC on and the car sitting at one place. He has already done something of this sort with his Maruti Baleno last year which has a petrol engine. The result was that the Baleno consumed almost Rs 100 – Rs 120 worth of fuel. But what are the differences when the test occurs with a diesel engine? Let us find out!

The results were shocking for everyone in a good way. It is important here to mention that there were two persons in the SUV. At times, they were outside the car which made the cabin cooler faster. The results might vary if, for instance, 4 people are sitting in the car. That will require more time to cool down the cabin and keep it cool for a long time. Similarly, if the weather outside is extremely hot or the car is parked directly in the sun, it might again require the AC to work harder.

In both these cases, the fuel consumption will be higher. However, with this test, the YouTuber was able to conclude that Seltos quaffed around Rs 60 worth of diesel in 1 and a half hours. This translates to about Rs 40 per hour. In one hour the SUV drank around half a litre of fuel to keep the AC running, which is impressive. So, it is not as expensive as one might think.
