Mercedes-Benz is delivering on its promise of launching around 15 new products in India in 2021. Having already successfully launched a few cars this year, the flagship offering and the most prominent jewel in its crown, the S-Class is also finally launched for the Indian market. Since time immemorial, S-Class has been the default choice of the customers looking for the pinnacle of luxury in India. That also puts a lot of pressure on the German carmaker to deliver on the expectations of the customers who were waiting for the S-Class. As a matter of fact, more than half of 150 units have already been booked by the potential customers even before the debut of the S-Class, signifying its appeal. Although this S-Class is replacing the outgoing model, which was already the sign of opulence, it still somehow manages to outdo that model in almost all aspects which is not an easy feat. The overall dimensions are increased in terms of length (34 mm), width (22 mm), height (13 mm) and Wheelbase (51 mm). This clearly indicates that the overall space for the passengers is substantially increased to offer more comfort. The S-Class is all about the comfort and convenience of the rear passengers as in most cases, it will a chauffeur-driver product. The exterior features a ton of AMG Line kit, Broad Chrome Frame Front Grille, Sleek LED Headlamps with plenty of functions, LED DRLs, Chrome Inserts on the front bumper and Fog Lamp Housing, Standing Three-Point Star Logo on the bonnet. The sides feature massive 20-inch Stylish Alloy Wheels, Chrome Outline on the Windows, Retractable Door Handles which pop out when someone comes close to them and long overhangs signifying the imposing presence. The rear features stylish LED taillamps and plenty of chrome bits to make it look ultra-luxurious.

2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class – Powertrains and Prices
The 2021 Mercedes-Benz comes with the option of a petrol and a diesel powertrain. This includes a 3.0-litre 6-Cylinder turbo petrol making 367 hp and 500 Nm and a 3.0-litre diesel making 330 hp and 700 Nm of peak power and peak torque respectively. Both these engines come with the 9-speed automatic gearbox option and Four-Wheel-Drive as standard. The prices of the S-Class start at Rs 2.17 Crore and go up to Rs 2.19 Crore. The direct competition comes from fellow German carmakers in the form of BMW 7 Series and Audi A8.
