Mahindra has been planning a ton of new SUVs for India in the coming years in addition to the already all-SUV fleet that it has currently. In fact, almost all these SUVs are mega-popular and are already getting the potential buyers excited. Mahindra is planning to have an SUV in almost every segment in a couple of years which goes to show that it is cashing in on the wave of popularity of the SUVs that the Automobile Industry is experiencing at the moment. Now the reports suggest that Mahindra might equip its upcoming 7-seater XUV700 with a hybrid powertrain along with some ADAS features. This indicates that the upcoming SUV will come in with a ton of new and exciting features to woo the customers away from the likes of Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus. Let us see what the XUV700 might have in store for us.

Mahindra XUV700 – Expected Powertrains, Prices and Rivals
The Mahindra XUV700 will come with multiple engine options, as has always been the case. However, this time around there might be a supplementary hybrid powertrain to improve the overall efficiency of the SUV. The new Mahindra XUV700 might feature both the powertrains options including the 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with direct injection technology from Mahindra’s very own mStallion range of engines and a 2.2-litre tried and tested diesel engine from Mahindra that we have also seen in various products in the past. There will be a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission option and an all-wheel system can also be incorporated. The new platform supports the incorporation of the 4×4 system which will lend great off-roading capabilities to the XUV700. The prices range might be somewhere between Rs 15 lakh to Rs 22 lakh, ex-showroom. The rivals of the Mahindra XUV700 will include Tata Safari, MG Hector and the upcoming Hyundai Alcazar.

Mahindra XUV700 – Expected Exterior Design
The design language of the Mahindra products has been extremely bold and modern lately and we expect nothing less this time around as well. The spy shots clearly reveal the headlamps unit of the XUV700 which will be a large C-shaped LED luster. The spy shots also reveal that the dimensions of the Mahindra XUV700 are more or less similar to the XUV500 but being based on a completely new platform it might well be larger in overall dimensions than the current-gen XUV500. The new platform will also allow the XUV700 to have off-roading capabilities with a 4×4 drive system. The exteriors have been heavily camouflaged but some highlights can be deduced from the spy images. This includes dual-tone alloy wheels, large overhangs signifying the size of the SUV, chrome beltline running across the lower end of the window line, rear spoiler and top mount stop lamp with a rear wiper and shark fin antenna. The front end is not visible in the spy shots but we expect a bold look as is the case with all the other SUVs from Mahindra’s design house.

Mahindra XUV700 – Expected Interiors, Features and Safety
Mahindra equips all its products with the latest and even segment-first features along with the segment-best safety kit. Rumours also suggest that the Mahindra XUV700 might feature a Mercedes-Benz inspired free standing connected touchscreen infotainment display and instrument cluster with all the connectivity features including Apple CarPlay and Android along with Bluetooth Connectivity, new dashboard design, high-quality cabin materials, Automatic Dual-Zone Climate Control, Multi-purpose Steering Wheel, Panoramic Sunroof, convenience features for the second and the third-row passengers. The safety aspect will be taken care of as is always the case with Mahindra. Also, there might be ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) features in the upcoming Mahindra XUV700. This might include Emergency Automatic Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Driver Fatigue Warning System and much more.
