One of the most successful homegrown car manufacturers in the automobile industry around the world, Mahindra and Mahindra have announced where they see the future of the brand. It has unveiled the logo of its much-anticipated and long-awaited SUV, the XUV700. Mahindra continues to stay true to its heritage of developing rugged, tough and modern SUV with the latest generation of in-house powertrains. It has changed the game before with the XUV500 and then with the XUV300. Both of these SUVs have enjoyed a ton of success in our market and continue to do so month after month. In fact, there has been a ton of speculations and excitement regarding the upcoming next-gen Mahindra XUV500, which is due for launch in the coming months. Now, Mahindra wants to push its boundaries even further with the introduction of the XUV700 which is currently being developed. Let us take a look at what to expect from it.

Mahindra XUV700 – W601 Platform
The engineers and passionate staff at Mahindra have been working on the all-new global platform on which the future SUVs from Mahindra will be based. They have codenamed the platform as W601. W601 will be an all-new platform for Mahindra’s upcoming global SUVs which will focus on cutting-edge technology in terms of multiple powertrains and transmission setups, all-wheel-drive systems, high levels of safety features along with plenty of connected car tech functions. This platform also aims at creating SUV which will combine the capabilities of off-roading with spirited and comfortable driving dynamics. That is exactly what Mahindra has been able to achieve even with its other offerings in the XUV family which have garnered a ton of attention from the customers in the past. The arrival of the XUV700 will be somewhere in the Q2 of FY2022, as announced by Mahindra.

Mahindra – Sales Report for March
Sitting comfortably at the 5th spot in our automobile industry, Mahindra enjoys a healthy 5.2% market share with an almost all-SUV fleet. The carmaker has grown 8% on an MoM basis from February to March. In March, Mahindra had an overall sales of just over 16,600 units compared to just over 15,300 units in February. The volume rivers of Mahindra continue to be its rugged and tough SUV with plenty of utility in its DNA, the Bolero (8,905) units, followed by another tried and tested SUV in the country for almost two decades, Scorpio (2,331 units). Thereafter come products like XUV300 (2,587 units), Thar (1,912 units), XUV500 (603), Marazzo (255 units) and Alturas G4 (49 units).

Mahindra – Upcoming SUVs in 2021
Mahindra has already its plate full with the heavy demand of its recently updated, lifestyle off-roader, Thar. The other most anticipated products from house Mahindra include an all-new Scorpio and all-new XUV500. The launches of both these SUVs have been delayed due to the semi-conductor shortage that has plagued the entire industry and is affecting production. Mahindra had announced already, that the supply of semiconductors is affected due to the pandemic and this will, in turn, affect the production all not only its upcoming SUVs but also of its current models, including that of Thar, which is one of the reasons for its long waiting time at the moment. Nonetheless, it is an exciting year for Mahindra will two of its favourite SUVs making a comeback and the news of XUV700 certainly attracting a ton of interest from the brand’s loyal customers.
