The Italian luxury sports carmaker, Maserati has launched its very first hybrid and V8 powertrains with the 2021 Ghibli in India. The brand is known for making mega-luxury sports cars with a lot of powertrains sourced from the Ferrari. The updates with this launch are external as well as internal. But the biggest talking point of this launch has to be under the hood. We shall discuss all there is to know about the 2021 Maserati Ghibli in detail.

2021 Maserati Ghibli – Exteriors and Interiors
The new Ghibli comes with a fair few cosmetic changes from the outside. However, the overall design language remains typically Maserati. The front now hosts full LED headlamps and redesigned sporty front bumper. The trademark ”Trinity” Maserati logo stands out on the elegant looking front grille. This is exactly what we’ve been used to seeing from the Italian carmaker. The LED tail lamps have also been redesigned a bit to differentiate from the outgoing model. The top-of-end-trim Trofeo gets red inserts at various parts throughout the body of the Ghibli, along with on the inside. There are also blue highlights on the body and calipers on the hybrid variants, making it very distinctive instantly. On the hybrid variants, the inside comes with blue stitching in various places. The Trofeo variant sports red highlights on the inside.

The inside comes with relatively more comprehensive upgrades and changes. This includes an all-new 10.1-inch Digital Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, updated Maserati Connected Car Technology with a ton of in-car remote features via the smartphone, Google or Alexa Voice Assistant. The new 7-inch Digital Instrument Cluster has also been updated and now features a ton of information for the driver. As expected, the overall comfort and convenience list are large with some of the highlights being powered hands-free tailgate operation, soft-close doors, adaptive suspension, 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating and Level 2 autonomous driving technology.

2021 Maserati Ghibli – Engines and Prices
The main talking point of the Maserati Ghibli is the engine options it comes with. There are three powertrains on offer; a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid system that produces 330hp and 450Nm which enables a 0-100 km/h sprint in just 5.7 secs. The battery is located on the floor and regeneration happens while braking recharging the battery pack. Then there is a 3.0-litre petrol V6 which makes 430hp and 580Nm, which is carried from the old Ghibli S. The third powertrain is the first-ever 3.8-litre V8 petrol from the brand which produces a massive 580hp and 730Nm, which enables 0-100kmph timing of just 4.3 sec and a top speed of 325 kmph. All these engines come mated to the 8-speed ZF torque converter automatic transmission powering the rear wheels. This setup allows for a sporty ride. The prices of the 2021 Maserati Ghibli start at Rs 1.15 Crore and go all the way up to Rs 1.93 Crore, ex-showroom for the Trofeo variant.
