If you follow the Indian automobile industry even slightly, then you would know the speculations around the Mahindra XUV500. It is among the most awaited SUVs in India. It has been spied testing multiple times as well. But a new video has surfaced recently, where the interiors are clearly visible and we can clearly see what to expect. It is expected to launch by April 2021. Before we move on to that, however, take a look at 9 new car launches in 2021!
2021 Mahindra XUV500 – Interiors
As seen from the spy shots, the XUV500 will sport a modern interior, including the much-talked-about Mercedes-like Digital Touchscreen Infotainment System on the centre console. It will be a floating touchscreen unit. It will also have a ton of safety as well as autonomous driving level 1 features. Apart from that, XUV500 will come equipped with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) technology. This includes a whole host of active safety features including Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Warning, Front Collision Warning and much more.
It is worth mentioning that ADAS Technology comes only in MG Gloster in India, which is a complete segment above the segment that XUV500 belongs to. Such technology to feature in a car of this segment and price point is simply remarkable. Apart from these features, the spy video also shows loads of space in the middle row as well as a large boot. The video features a massive panoramic sunroof. It will be feature-rich in terms of technology and convenience.

2021 Mahindra XUV500 – Engine and Transmission
In terms of engine, it will be exciting because of the introduction of a new family of mStallion engines in the Mahindra family. The XUV500 will get the most powerful engine developed by Mahindra. This will be a 2.0-litre turbocharged gasoline direct injection engine producing a colossal 190hp and 380Nm. This engine will make the XUV500 the most powerful SUV in its segment. It is likely to come also in a diesel guise with a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The transmission options include a 6-speed manual or an automatic.
2021 Mahindra XUV500 – Competition
The Mahindra XUV500 will cost around Rs 14 lakh to Rs 21 lakh, ex-showroom. This price range is very competitive because of a lot of popular products. For example, the Hyundai Creta is the top-selling SUV in the country and features in this price range. Apart from that, the newly popular feature-loaded Kia Seltos is also a force to reckon with and the customers have been buying it like anything. Then there is the American brand Jeep with its Compass SUV which also lies in this segment. The newly launched MG Hector will not make it easy for the XUV500 either.

All-in-all, it won’t be easy to compete in this segment by any means. But a feature-rich 7-seater vehicle with many advanced technological features will make for an interesting fight. All we can say is that buyers will have a wide choice of products to choose from in this segment, as a result of this competition.
