Suzuki Jimny just debuted the Mexican market through the CBU route and in just 72 hours, it is completely sold out for 2021.
Suzuki Jimny is a very popular car in the global markets, due to its rugged and compact styling at an affordable price. It was launched in Japanese and European markets first, where it faced an enormous demand. In European countries, it literally had a waiting period of over a year and was temporarily put on hold due to large number of bookings.
Recently, Suzuki launched the Jimny in Mexico as a CBU. So, only 1000 units were imported for 2021 and based on the demand, they will see if it will be re-introduced later on. However, in just 72 hours, all the units of Jimny were booked. The lifestyle SUV was completely sold out for the year 2021!

In just 3 days, all 1000 units sold out is a record within itself. The deliveries are going to commence in January 2021. All these units were based on order-to-buy basis. Most probably, by February or March the deliveries are expected to be over. Even the Indian market is soon set to get the Jimny, but different from what the rest of the world will get.
The Indian market is going to get the 5-door version of Jimny, exclusively made for us. It was recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2020, but in a 3-door format. After Maruti discontinued the Gypsy due to safety and emission norms, it will introduce Jimny as the ultimate replacement, probably with the same name too.
In India, Jimny will get a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine that will produce 105 PS and 138 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and a 4-speed torque converter. While it is positioned as an off-roader in most of the countries, here it will come as a lifestyle SUV that can go some off-roading. Also, it will not come with any off-roading tech that you get in other countries.
