Harley Davidson has finally written a letter to its customers in India and assured them of their continued support. Genuine Harley-Davidson motorcycles, accessories, gear, H.O.G activities and important services such as warranty and motorcycle service are currently active and will continue from January 2021 onwards.
A couple of months ago, when Harley Davidson first announced that they would be exiting India, the news was meet with a lot of negativity, surprise and uncertainty. Harley owners suddenly found themselves stranded, not sure about how exactly they would get their motorcycles serviced. Harley Davidson dealerships also found themselves in the middle of nowhere with the American motorcycle shutting business operations in India. A few days thereafter, there came some hope when Harley announced their new agreement with Hero MotoCorp for the Indian market.
And now, Harley Davidson has finally written a letter to its customers in India and assured them of their continued support. In this letter directly addressing Indian customers, Harley Davidson assured them that they are working with Hero MotoCorp for a seamless experience with the brand in 2021 and beyond. The letter read, “Genuine Harley-Davidson motorcycles, accessories, gear, H.O.G activities and important services such as warranty and motorcycle service are currently active and will continue from January 2021 onwards”.
One of the biggest concerns for existing Harley owners was the availability of parts and regular maintenance and servicing of their motorcycles. The letter does assure customers that parts, spares and accessories will be available to order from dealers. Existing Harley dealerships will however only continue to be in operation till December 31, 2020. The company will however reveal more details about their updated dealer network and service points before the end of December 2020.

We doubt if any new dealers will be added at this juncture. As for the existing dealerships, not all may extend their contracts with the brand in 2021 and beyond. This is something that we will only find out in time. Another great positive that can be derived from this letter is that Harley Davidson states that they will continue to bring newer motorcycles to India but more details about them will be shared only closer to their launch. And that brings us to speculate if Harley Davidson could actually bring the new Pan America ADV to India, which otherwise may not have made it to India.

Harley even assures that H.O.G activities will continue in 2021 and beyond and that is something that must be a great relief for Harley owners. H.O.G activities are a huge part of owning a Harley Davidson and existing and newer customers certainly can certainly look forward to it in the future. The entire ordeal of Harley Davidson India, their customers and their business partners has been very unfortunate over the last couple of months. However, its good to know that the company will continue to support their customers and fans here in India in the future.
