After spying the new Toyota Innova Crysta facelift in India for about a month, the Japanese carmaker has now launched the updated MPV in India. Toyota has launched the Innova Crysta Facelift in India with prices starting from Rs 16.26 lakh for the entry-level GX and it goes up to Rs 24.33 lakh for the top-spec ZX trim. The facelifted Innova Crysta is now available in three trims – GX, VX and the top-spec ZX trims. Compared to the pre-facelift model, prices for the Innova Crysta have gone up by Rs 60,000-70,000, depending on the variant. For reference, the pre-facelift model was priced between Rs 15.66 lakh and Rs 23.63 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Innova Crysta was an already pricey MPV and now its even more so. A steep price has however never deterred the image of the ‘Innova’ name plate in India and we are sure it will continue to be a strong seller. There are plenty of changes on the face of the updated MPV. Not only is the grille larger than before, it comes finished in black with five horizontal slats instead of the two chrome-finished ones seen on the pre-facelift car. There is still some chrome though, in the form of a thick chrome surround around the entire grille. As for the headlights, while their size and shape remain the same, they get new chrome extensions that merge into the grille.
The bumper down below has also been completely revised with a much more aggressive and sporty design. The fog lamps are now vertically housed with a thick, triangular black surround in a deep inset in the bumper and it also features an integrated bull bar (well, sort of) finished in a contrast black shade with two additional fog lamps. The Innova Crysta facelift also gets a new design for the 16-inch alloy wheels and higher-spec variants even get larger 17-inch wheels. The rear profile of the Innova Crysta however sees no change.

There are not as many changes on the inside as on the outside. Toyota have however updated the infotainment system and the new 8.0-inch touchscreen now gets dedicated buttons for the volume control and other functions. Toyota has also thrown in Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for the first time in the Innova Crysta. There’s also a new Camel tan color for the leather upholstery in the higher-spec trims while the lower trims continue with all-black upholstery. Higher variants now also get front parking sensors as standard. Other features have been carried over from the pre-facelift model.

There are however no changes at all under the hood of the Innova Crysta facelift. The Innova Crysta continues with a 150hp, 2.4-litre diesel or a 166hp, 2.7-litre petrol engine option, just as the pre-facelift model. Both the engines can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox. Toyota updated these engine to BS6-spec earlier this year and so they will definitely carry on for some more time. The pre-facelift model also had a base-spec G and G+ trims and they will continue to be on sale, but only to fleet customers.
