New spy images that have surfaced from China completely reveal the Jeep Compass facelift that’s coming to India very soon. We are still yet to get a proper look at the interiors, which is where the bulk of the changes lie.
The Jeep Compass facelift has long been coming and after seeing several spy shots over several months, new spy images have surfaced from China that completely reveal the updated SUV. The Jeep Compass facelift will be making its world premier in China later this month but it will only come to India sometime in 2021. There’s a lot to be excited about, so let’s look at the upcoming Jeep Compass facelift in a little more detail.
Although the design updates aren’t as comprehensive as was expected, there’s still a lot going around here. First up, the headlamps are a lot sleeker than before with the lower portion being a little more angular than earlier. The headlamp inserts are new as well and we expect full-LED lights to be standard on most of the variants across the range. Although the grille remains the same in the size, the details are all-new with prominent honeycomb-like inserts.
The lower bumper is however completely new and features a new contrast black trim that runs end-to-end connecting the two fog lamps at either ends. Given the fact that the new bumper does not feature separate LED DRLs, we expect them to come incorporated in the main headlamp unit itself. At the back, the Jeep Compass facelift does not feature many changes. The lower bumper appears the same as the outgoing model while the tail lamps have been mildly reprofiled with new inserts and blackened bits.
The spy images also give us a glimpse at the updated Jeep Compass Trailhawk. The Trailhawk variant is the more rugged and off-road oriented variant of the Compass, and just as its predecessor, it gets a unique design for the bumper. It also gets an all-black grille, dual-tone hood along with the trademark red hooks at the front, and possibly at the rear as well. The Trailhawk variant also gets new designs for the alloy wheels. The Compass is also expected to be a little longer than the outgoing model owing to that new bumper.

These spy images still does not give us a proper look inside the cabin of the Compass facelift but that is where the bulk of the changes are expected. The Compass facelift will come with a completely revised dashboard along with a much larger floating 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Jeep’s new UConnect5 connected car tech. The dashboard of the Compass facelift is also expected to feature better quality materials and there could be a fully-digital instrument cluster on the higher variants of the Compass.

The Compass facelift will however remain unchanged under the hood here in India. It will continue with its updated BS6-engine lineup that includes a 1.4-litre turbo petrol and a 2.0-litre diesel engine, both available with the option of manual or automatic gearboxes. The changes are however expected to carry a premium over the current model’s price which ranges from Rs 16.49 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the likes of the Hyundai Tucson, Skoda Karoq and even the upcoming Citroen C5 Aircross.
