Check out the strong build quality and safety of Kia Seltos as it went through a major accident involving two trucks as well.
Kia Seltos is among the best selling SUVs of India now, despite being in the industry for over than a year. It gets many safety features like blind spot monitor, six airbags, 360-degree camera, traction control, VSM and much more. In terms of build quality, it has not gone through a crash test in India but for Australian market, it has scored a cool 5-star safety rating.
Here is an example of the strong build quality of Kia Seltos, which was recently sandwiched between two trucks. The accident happened in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. The exact details of the accident are awaited, however, looks like the front truck applied the sudden brake. Then it had a simultaneous effect on Seltos and the truck following it.

The pillars have been damaged taking the crumple zones and roof with them. However, all the passengers were reported safe inside. They are seriously injured and are in the hospital from the past three weeks. It is the top-end GT Line trim which gets all the bells and whistles loaded already, resulting in less impact.
Although, one thing noticeable is that the airbags of this Kia Seltos did not deploy. The top-end variants get six airbags, but not even one of them have been deployed. Seems like the passengers were not wearing seatbelt, as that seems the only reason for airbags to not deploy. The impact of the crash has to be on the sensors and seatbelts need to be worn for airbags to function.
Prices of Kia Seltos start at Rs 9.89 Lakhs up to Rs 17.29 Lakhs (ex-showroom), including more than 20 variants. Engine options include a 1.5 Litre petrol engine with a 6-speed MT and IVT, a 1.5 Litre diesel engine with 6-speed MT and 6-speed torque converter AT and a 1.4 Litre turbo-petrol engine with a 6-speed MT and a 7-step DCT.
