Mahindra has finally introduced Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on the higher-spec S9 and S11 variants of the Scorpio without any premium in price. The lower variants without the 7.0-inch screen continue to miss out on these features.
Mahindra has updated the Scorpio with much needed and very essential Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity. Although the higher-spec variants of the Scorpio came equipped with a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Mahindra did not offer Android Auto or Apple CarPlay on them, until now. These connectivity apps have only been rolled out on the top-spec S9 and S11 variants of the Scorpio. Interestingly, Mahindra has not upped the price of these two variants with the addition of the new feature, with the S9 and S11 still retailing for Rs 15.11 lakh and Rs 16.27 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively.
Lower variants of the Scorpio which do not get the 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system continue to miss out on such connectivity apps. The lower variants either miss out on an audio system completely or only come equipped with a 2DIN setup. Even in the S9 variant, prior to this addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the touchscreen featured a basic system with only USB, aux or Bluetooth connectivity. The unit on the higher S11 variant meanwhile came with satellite navigation additionally while also doubling up as the display for the rear view camera.
