Renault has launched the new special edition Kwid Neotech variant with a fist-in-segment dual-tone paint shade, with its price starting from Rs 4.30 lakh. Its available with both the 0.8L and 1.0L engine options.
The Renault Kwid is one of the most popular cars in its segment of entry-level hatchbacks and to further spice things up, Renault has added a new dual-tone paint shade variant to the Kwid lineup. Called the Renault Kwid Neotech, this special edition of the Kwid has been launched with its price starting from Rs 4.30 lakh. This also makes the Kwid the only car in the segment to come with a dual-tone paint shade. The Kwid Neotech is available with both the 0.8L and 1.0L engine options.
The Kwid Neotech essentially adds a new dual-tone paint shade to the palette – Zanskar Blue with Silver roof or vice versa – and we must admit that the two colors really compliment each other. There are other new additions as well, like the grey colored wheel covers, Neotech graphics on the side body moulding and even decals on the C-pillar. There are some revisions to the inside as well in the form of highlights and fabric inserts in the new Zanskar Blue shade.
In terms of equipment, the Neotech variant sits in between the mid-spec RxL and and top-spec Rxt variants. It gets an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay over the RxL variant. However, it misses out on features such as a rearview parking camera and USB fast charger from the top-spec RxT variant. As for its safety features, the Kwid Neotech packs in a driver airbag, ABS, rear parking sensors and front seat belt reminders, all of which is standard across the Kwid range.

As already mentioned, the Kwid Neotech is available with both the 0.8L and 1.0L engine options of the Kwid. The 0.8L three-cylinder engine produces 54bhp and 72Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.0L three-cylinder engine produces 67bhp and 91Nm of peak torque. Both the engines come mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as as standard while the larger 1.0L engine can also be had with an AMT gearbox.

The Kwid Neotech is thus about Rs 30,000 more expensive than the RxL variant of the Kwid, irrespective of what engine its specced with. Also, the Neotech variant is about Rs 8,000 less than the top-spec RxT(O) variant. While the Kwid Neotech 0.8L is priced at Rs 4.30 lakh, the larger 1.0L versions of the Neotech are priced at Rs 4.53 lakh for the manual and Rs 4.84 lakh for the AMT. Rivals for the Renault Kwid include the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso, Datsun Redigo and the Maruti Suzuki Alto.
