What’s still of core importance to the Mahindra Thar is its off-road ability and we are glad to report that it much improved on that front too. We have already tested the Mahindra Thar through a hardcore off-road course and it has come away with shining colors. The new Thar has much more water wading capacity, better approach and departure angles. It also gets new multi-link suspension at the rear and independent double wishbone front suspension which allows for better wheel articulation and suspension travel. What’s completely new on the second-gen Thar is a electronically controlled brake locking differential, which essentially acts as a traction control in low grip conditions, braking wheels which do not have grip and sending power to where its needed most.
