The tech specifications of Tata Altroz Turbo have been leaked along with the prices. Looks like, it will be cheaper than Polo TSI offering the same power figure!
So, now we can confirm that the Tata Altroz Turbo is actually on its way for a launch. We have spotted it a couple of times bearing the Turbo badging on the boot. The technical specifications along with the prices have already been revealed ahead of the launch which is expected next month itself.
As per the latest reports, it will get a 1.2 Litre three-cylinder Revotron turbocharged engine from the Nexon. The engine will produce 108 BHP and 140 Nm of peak torque. In comparison to the one on Nexon, it produces 10 BHP and 30 Nm lower. The motor will come paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Petrol | Turbo Petrol (Expected) | Diesel | |

XZ | 7.59 lakh | 8.59 lakh | 8.79 lakh |
XZ (O) | 7.75 lakh | 8.75 lakh | 8.95 lakh |
As you can see, it will demand a Lakh more than the regular Altroz petrol variants and will be about Rs 20,000 cheaper than the diesel variants. You have the turbo engine right from the base variant, which is another advantage. With these prices, Altroz Turbo will be nearly a Lakh cheaper than the Volkswagen Polo TSI.
The latter also produces 108 BHP but a far better torque figure of 175 Nm. The other turbo hatch in competition is the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Turbo, which produces 100 PS and 172 Nm of torque. However, the Nios Turbo is cheaper even than the expected price of base-spec Altroz Turbo.

Other than an engine upgrade, the Tata Altroz Turbo will get minor cosmetic differences. These could include special badging, new colour options and red/black inserts on the exterior as well as inside the cabin. There won’t be any feature upgrades as far as the reports say. There are chances of it getting a DCT gearbox in near future, probably at the time of launch itself.
