Now if you are speeding on the roads of Kerala, beware! Tata Nexon EV might be the car that will chase you to charge you a fine.
Tata Nexon EV is the among the most affordable electric vehicles in India, with prices starting right at Rs 14 Lakhs. Right now, it is the best selling electric cars of India and till now, more than 1000 units have been sold easily. Kerala Government is the latest buyer of Nexon EV as they bought 65 units recently.
So now, the Tata Nexon EV has joined the Tata Nexon MVD (Motor Vehicle Department) and will be used for patrol car, police interceptor and other facilities. It will be equipped with radio, GPS tracking, special cavities for storage, speed sensors and radars, cameras for capturing events and other gadgets too.

In other departments, it will also be used for police patrol. So, next time you are speeding, you might actually have the Nexon EV on your tail for fining you. The first state in the country to have an EV serving the government. It comes in the White/Blue theme with the MVD logos over the body.
Nexon EV gets a 30.2 kWh lithium ion battery pack that is good for 129 PS and up to 245 Nm of peak torque. In City mode, you have the same figures and 60% less torque at hand. The Sport mode allows you to have up to 245 Nm. It further gets an ARAI claimed range of 312 kilometres, which comes down to atleast 200-200 kilometres in real world conditions.
To fully charge the Nexon EV, it will take about 6-8 hours on a home AC charger. If you use a fast charger or a public charging station, it will take just 50 minutes to charge the EV up to 80%. Further, it gets features like electric sunroof, six airbags, Hill Hold And Descent Control, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors, braking regeneration, drive modes, automatic headlamps, digital speedometer and much more. Prices start at Rs 13.99 Lakhs up to Rs 15.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
