Kia Sonet is all set to be launched in India this week. Seeing the popularity and booking numbers, Sonet seems to be following the path of its eldering sibling, Kia Seltos. 1. Diesel-Auto Combination
Sonet and Seltos offer the same diesel-automatic combination with the same engines too. Both use a 1.5 Litre diesel engine that produces 115 PS and 250 Nm of peak torque. The transmission on offer is a torque converter unit.
2. 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system with UVO Connect Internet Car Technology
Kia Sonet also sports a 10.25 inch touchscreen infotainment system that has been integrated into the dashboard. Further, the infotainment supports Voice Recognition, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay and the Internet Car Technology as well.
3. LED headlamps
LED headlamps come as standard on the top-end variants of Seltos as well as Sonet. If you look at the base and mid-spec trims, both get projector headlamps. However, fog lamps are not LED units but again projector units.
4. Six Airbags
Kia Sonet gets six airbags on the top-end variants which is not found in most of the compact SUVs in its segment. The same goes for Seltos, as it offers six airbags but many other SUVs fail to do so.
5. Ventilated Seats
Ventilated seats is not that important feature but actually quite handy. For India with its always moist weather conditions, front ventilated seats put the front passengers in complete comfort after their clothes are drenched in sweat.
6. Turbo Petrol DCT Combination
Another exciting combination that Sonet and Seltos offer is the turbo petrol and DCT combination. Kia Sonet gets a 1.0 Litre three-cylinder turbo unit whereas Seltos goes with a more powerful 1.4 Litre four-cylinder turbo unit.
7. Remote Engine Start Stop System
The last and another handy feature that both the SUVs share is Remote Engine Start Stop System. From your phone or smartwatch, with UVO connect, you can switch on the engine. Sonet, however, offers the system for manual variants as well, which Seltos does not.
