Ford has been spotted testing the Endeavor Sport in India, spy shots of which have now surfaced on the internet. The Ford Endeavor Sport variant essentially gets a cosmetic makeover over the standard SUV and it is in fact already on sale in markets like Australia. Ford could be bringing this special variant of the Endeavor to India as an answer to the recently launched Toyota Fortuner TRD that gets a similar treatment.
As the name already suggests, the Endeavor Sport gets some distinguishing ‘sporty’ touches, both on the inside and outside. All the chrome and silver trims on the exterior of the SUV are finished in a stealthier black shade and alloy wheels too come finished in black. Although we do not get a view of the face of the SUV, the Endeavor Sport variant gets a blacked-out honey comb finish for the grille instead of the chrome slatted one on the regular SUV.
There are also few ‘Sport’ badges on the exterior of the car – one of the tail gate and then two more as decals over the rear door. The interiors of the Endeavor Sport will likely be of the same design as the standard SUV, although there could be a few more of those ‘Sport’ badges thrown in here and there. Obviously, we expect the interiors to boast of an all-black upholstery to keep in line with the ‘Sport’ tag.

We expect the features list to be identical to the standard SUV as well. Some of the highlight features include Ford’s Sync-3 infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, powered front seats, and off-road modes. Under the hood, the Endeavor Sport could continue with the 2.0L turbo-diesel engine from the standard SUV that produces 168hp and 420Nm of torque. The engine will come mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Ford could offer the Endeavor Sport variant in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. The spotted test mule seems to be a RWD variant as the 4WD badge is missing from the tail gate. If launched, the Ford Endeavor Sport could be priced similarly or slightly above the top-spec Titanium+ 4×4 AT variant (Rs 34.45 lakh). While its meant to be a direct rival to the Toyota Fortuner TRD, we will admit that the updates are not as comprehensive as on the latter. Meanwhile Ford has also started working on the next-gen of the Endeavor SUV.
