The diesel-automatic engine-gearbox combination will be available on the top three variants of the XUV500 – W7, W9 and W11(O) – and the price starts from Rs 15.65 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). Here’s the detailed price list of the BS6 Mahindra XUV500 diesel automatic.

This automatic gearbox in question is a Aisin-sourced 6-speed, torque-converter automatic unit and it comes mated to the 2.2L mHawk turbocharged diesel engine. The engine produces 155hp and 360Nm of torque. In fact, the specs and the combination are exactly the same as the BS4-spec XUV500. The automatic gearbox also comes with a creep function and a sequential manual mode.
The diesel automatic variants of the XUV500 are about Rs 1.21 lakh more expensive than their manual counterparts, again same as the BS4-spec model. The diesel automatic Mahindra XUV300 is quite unique in its segment for being the only three-row SUV in this price segment. However, it does compete with other five-seater diesel automatic SUVs in this price range which includes the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Kia Seltos.

However, while the Hector Plus is a petrol-only SUV, the XUV500 only comes with a diesel engine.
