This photo of Toyota Innova has gone viral on the social media showing how the capability of India’s most popular MPV.
Toyota Innova Crysta is one of the most popular and oldest MPVs of India. It has aged more than 15 years in the Indian market and is still one of the best selling MPVs. A long lasting engine, high reliability and the trust of Toyota are some of the factors that keep Innova favourite among its buyers.
Here you can see the Toyota Innova Crysta halfway submerged in water and still doing its deed. This photo was taken recently as the city is going through excessive rainfall. The water is till the headlights and even the lamps cannot be seen properly. While the bonnet and half of the grille are above water, mostly, the exhaust will also be under water.

Innova boasts of a decent ground clearance of 193mm and a water wading capacity of nearly 500mm. This makes it one of the friendliest cars to drive in a flooded area. However, that said, you should avoid entering places where the water level will be above the exhaust. If water goes inside, the engine could get severely damaged.
Toyota Innova Crysta recently received the BS6 treatment but also lost out one engine. Now, it gets a 2.7 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 166 BHP and 245 Nm of peak torque. The diesel engine is a 2.4 Litre turbocharged unit that is good for 148 BHP and 343 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options include a 5-speed MT, a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT.
Safety features onboard include 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, vehicle stability control, rear parking sensors and a rear parking camera. Regular features include automatic climate control, hill climb assist, touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, electrically adjustable driver seat, AC vents for all three rows and more. Prices of the MPV start at Rs 15.66 Lakhs up to Rs 24.67 Lakhs (ex-showroom).
