Toyota has teased its upcoming Urban Cruiser and revealed some details about it. The launch is scheduled to happen next month.
Toyota Urban Cruiser is the second upcoming SUV that’s scheduled to be launched in the month of September this year. A couple of details have been revealed about the SUV, but all the details are expected to come in pouring sometime next month. Recently, its final image has also been leaked online.
The compact SUV is an almost badged Maruti Vitara Brezza. Differences can be seen mainly on the front, where the Urban Cruiser gets a completely different grille and bumpers. Moreover, it looks like a mini Fortuner from the front. Also, we can see that the headlamp design and alloy wheels are also new.

However, both of them will share the components, features, metal sheets and ofcourse, the engine. Urban Cruiser will get a 1.5 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 105 BHP and 138 Nm of peak torque. The motor will come mated to a 5-speed manual stick and a 4-speed torque converter AT.
A big difference comes in form of the mild-hybrid SHVS technology that Maruti offers. While this technology only comes on the AT variants of Vitara Brezza, it will remain standard on MT as well as AT variants of Toyota SUV. This makes the Urban Cruiser manual variants better in mileage than that of Brezza.
Brezza AT variants claim to offer 18.76 kmpl while the MT variants offer just 17 kmpl. As for the Toyota Urban Cruiser, it will offer 18.76 kmpl for both the combinations. While the difference seems quite small on papers, in real world conditions, the addition of the mild-hybrid tech will increase the mileage by a better number.
