Among the top three selling cars for the month of June 2020, Kia Seltos and the new Hyundai Creta have managed to secure their spots.
Last month, the deliveries of new 2020 Hyundai Creta began across the country. For the month of May, it was the best selling car beating all the Maruti cars. Even for this month, it has managed to make it up to top 3 selling cars of the country along with its sibling Kia Seltos.
For the month of June 2020, Hyundai sold 7,208 units of the new Creta. Seltos bagged the third position after reporting around 7,114 sales unit. The first position, this time, was taken up by the Maruti Suzuki Alto which reported 7,291 units for the month. That is just a bit more than the Creta, nearly 80 units more.

The fourth and fifth position is secured by the likes of Maruti Dzire and Maruti WagonR, respectively. The coronavirus and lockdown had a major impact on auto makers. Since Creta is a new car, Hyundai is focused on delivering it first to the buyers. The actual launch happened in March, just some days before the lockdown started.
Creta and Seltos share their engines and gearbox options. Both of them get the same 1.5 Litre petrol and diesel engines along with a 1.4 Litre turbo petrol motor. The power figures are also very similar. The petrol engine produces 110P PS and so does the diesel engine. The turbo motor, in both the SUVs, offers 143 PS.
There’s only one difference in terms of gearbox options. The Creta turbo petrol only comes with a 7-speed DCT, whereas the Seltos Turbo also offers the option of a 6-speed manual. The prices of Hyundai Creta commence at RS 9.89 Lakhs up to Rs 17.20 Lakhs. Kia Seltos is priced from Rs 9.69 Lakhs up to Rs 17.29 Lakhs (all prices ex-showroom).
