This Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has been modified by Bangalore-based Motormind Automotive Designs and they have done a very tasteful job indeed. It really looks like it will climb the tallest of mountains.
The Maruti Suzuki Gypsy is one of the most iconic vehicles ever sold in India and although it has been discontinued, it still enjoys a lot of popularity among off-roaders in the country. The Gypsy is also a very popular vehicle among car modifiers and there are numerous well modified examples all across the country. This particular modified Maruti Suzuki Gypsy is however one of the best looking Gypsy’s we have seen in a long time. Its not over the top, its not subtle, its just almost perfect.
This Maruti Suzuki Gypsy has been modified by Motormind Automotive Designs which is Bangalore-based car modifier. It has been nicknamed the ‘Shudder’ and although there’s quite a lot of modifications, its still immediately identifiable as a Gypsy. Even the headlamps are completely stock. But that’s about it. The face gets an all new look with a revised grille that contrasts well on the face. The headlights have been garnished by four individual LED lights at four corners, much like Porsches. Neat!
There’s a chunky bumper down below which looks really cool with its matte black finish. There are two more U-shaped LED turn indicators on the bumper with some more styling bits which make it look quite funky. Speaking of lights, there’s a pair of LED headlamps on the roof as well. The metal bash plate on the bumper gives the SUV a very rugged look. You have definitely noticed the larger off-road tires by now on the all-black wheels but what has been rather neatly done are the flared wheel arches to accommodate the larger tires. The matte black finish on the wheel arches contrasts well the white paint job of the car.

The side profile also sees the addition of an aftermarket side step. The face only tells half the story about this modified Gypsy. The rear end of the Gypsy has been completely stripped off to make for a very handsome pick-up truck look. The roof has been replaced by a canopy with a small rear glass window. The rear portion of the Gypsy has been converted into a pick-up bed and it looks very cool indeed. The railings are also very well executed. The rear also gets a similar bumper treatment with a metal bash plate and LED tail lamps. The tail gate mounted rear tire add some more character.

On the inside, this Gypsy even comes with sports seats and GT-R evolution branding. There however has been no mechanical modifications done on this Gypsy. It continues to be powered by a 1.3L, four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 80bhp and 103Nm of peak torque. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual transmission and even gets a low and high transfer case. We bet this Gypsy will be pretty handy off the road.
